Dull the nerves: Before waxing, apply a topical agent such as “No Scream Cream”. Also, take ibuprofen (if tolerated) about 30-45 minutes before waxing. Drinking alcohol before an appointment will make the skin more sensitive and prone to bruising in the area waxed.

Before waxing use a gentle scrub a day or two before waxing, this will enable the wax to grab the hair more easily and provides an easier exit for the hair, also, it will help prevent ingrown hair. Also, a body wash with salicylic acid or a gentle scrub around the bikini area are acceptable.

Don’t apply astringent or toner prior to waxing, as this will tighten your pores and cause the skin to hold onto the hair follicle more tightly.

Drink lots of water to keep skin hydrated.

Allow the hair in the area to be waxed to grow at least ¼ inch before your appointment. This will take some 2 weeks and may take others 5 weeks.

Avoid heat such as- tanning beds, saunas, sun exposure, pools and hot tubs prior to wax appointment.

Schedule strategically, go a week before or 2 days after your period.

No retinoids or Accutane/acne topical or oral medication, before appointment.

Use a body or facial scrub: After Waxing use a gentle scrub 2-3 days after your appointment. Gentle exfoliants can be purchased at your local grocery store. It is best to use something free of fragrances. If you are on a budget, you can make one at home with sugar and coconut oil (liquid oils are easier to mix).

Stay out of the heat, tanning beds, saunas, sun exposure, pools and hot tubs 1-2 days after your wax appointment. It can irritate the skin. Additionally, after having been waxed it can make your skin more susceptible to hyperpigmentation due to having part of the protective layer of skin removed. If you do get in the sun, wear a sunscreen of at least 50 on any freshly waxed (and exposed) area.

Waxing discomfort will decrease over time, with regular waxing, as hair becomes finer, softer and thinner.

If you miss a scheduled appointment and fail to notify us 12 hours prior to your appointment, you will be charged 50% of your service.

Our salon policy states that children are welcome in the salon, if the child has a waxing appointment. Consent forms will need to be signed by a parent of any child under the age of 18 for services. Parent will need to be present in the wax room with any minor.

Additionally, due to COVID 19, and for the safety of the clients, appointments will be scheduled in a way (not back to back) so that there is never more than one client in the salon at a time. We ask that clients wear a face mask unless there is a reason to take it off, such as a facial waxing procedure.
